This isn’t my first time at the Hillside Cafe. I attended Michi Calica’s flower arranging workshop here last year, and I swore to come back if only for the Hillside green smoothie. I was sure my little boy would approve of it, it was so good.
I was right. He finished the whole thing.
It was a food trip slash playdate get together with Amanda and Jana. We wanted to try the nutrient dense, scrumptious meals that Hillside is known for, and as health conscious moms, we wanted our kids to not only eat their veggies, but enjoy them, too.
That’s pretty much what happened, thank goodness.
Here’s what we tried.
Adjacent to Hillside Cafe is a Obin’s Garden, a foliage filled ornamental green market for those who like to tinker in the garden or learn how to grow their own food. It was a big enough space that was perfect to keep the hyper kids entertained while we moms focused on the scrumptious meal prepared for us.
I wish I had more time to sink into a corner and devour the well-curated reading materials they had here.
Will we be coming back? Definitely, with the husband the next time around.
